Police have arrested three people for gang-raping a young woman in Pirojpur’s Nazirpur Upazila. They were arrested from Baghazora village in Shakharikathi union of the Upazila around 12 noon on Thursday.
The arrested are Kabir Hossain Gazi, Rabbi Sheikh, and Hridoy Gazi of the village.
According to the victim, her family members went to a wedding ceremony at a nearby house around 12:30 pm last Wednesday. At that moment, three young men opened the door and entered the house. They grabbed the girl by the mouth and threatened to kill her.
Nazirpur Police Station OC Mahidul Islam confirmed the allegations and said that the victim had lodged a written complaint. Three people have been arrested in connection with the allegations.
.The victim was also sent to Pirojpur District Hospital for medical examination.
