Project K, the 50th anniversary venture of Vyjayanthi Movies, was revealed in February 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed back the production by a year. The shooting started in July 2021 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, where a futuristic set was built.

With a whopping budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), Kalki 2898 AD is the most expensive Indian film to date. Santhosh Narayanan composes the music score, while Djordje Stojiljkovic handles the cinematography and Nitin Zihani Choudhary designs the production. The film is slated for a 2024 theatrical release.

Storyline: Avatar of Vishnu, a Hindu god. She is destined to protect the world from a powerful demon who has stolen the elixir of immortality. But she must also face the wrath of Shiva, another god who was once enamored by Mohini’s beauty and charm.
